The Owners: CLOWNING
AROUND is owned and managed by Ella Reyes-Choy and Cherry Mapua-Osmeña. They look
into all the logistical demands, from coming up with suitable party packages for each client, to making sure all orders are
delivered on schedule. They also make sure that there is a steady flow of new ideas and activities that keep parties and events fresh, fun, safe educational, wholesome, exciting and innovative.

families from the ABC market – a veritable who’s who
in the political, social, diplomatic and even show-business arenas.

Events by Clowning Around has also done
events for schools like St. Theresa’s College (Quezon City),
Sacred Heart (Quezon City), Assumption Convent, Woodrose School,
The Learning Child School, Miriam College & Southridge School.
One of the most recent event was the Father’s
Day of Southridge School in Alabang, “Competere 2006”.
This unique concept was a brain child of Events by Clowning Around
which involved the training of junior and senior students and
teachers with the maximum participation of sons and fathers of
all levels in friendly competitive and challenging Amazing Race
type games. Number of participants is 1,400 in a three hour time
slot.
The Themes:When CLOWNING AROUND started, the
company offered simple host packages. At present, themes include
popular kiddy classics and favorites. There are themes of adventure
like jungle-safaris, mermaids, sailors and pirates, flowers and
fairies, cowboys and Indians, super heroes, princes and princesses
and others. Other themes offered are Halloween, Christmas, Valentine,
Easter, School Events, Mall Shows, Debuts, Product Launches, Mother’s
Day, and Father’s Day programs.
Special Projects & Events by Clowning Around:
CLOWNING AROUND has branched out into hosting
special events, launches, anniversaries, mall shows, weddings,
debuts and other celebrations. With a formidable stable of entertainers,
facilitators and trainers in the dynamic field of corporate activities,
we now a have a subsidiary called Events! by Clowning Around.
We are the catalyst that helps organizations
and inspires people to reach their greatest potential TOGETHER.
We do this by producing targeted learning experiences that engage
people, empower leaders, and accelerate team development. The
end result is a motivated, committed workforce.
The Talents:
Clowning Around’s pool of talents
is composed of professional performers who love kids. They are
men and women of diverse interests who hold “week day”
jobs and Clown Around mostly to fulfill the need to play with
kids and host parties and events. The spectrum is indeed wide.
Clowning Around has magicians, jugglers/balancers, acrobats, puppeteers,
mime thespians, sword eaters, stilt walkers, street/hip-hop/Hawaiian
dancers, caricaturists, face painters, tattoo artists, balloon
sculptors, character mascots, world champion “yoyo”
exhibition artist, ventriloquist and storytellers.
Clowning Around also has educational shows
like the “Exotic Bird and
Python Show”, the fun “Dog and Monkey Show”
and the interactive “edutainment” show called “The
Amazing Bubble Show”. The latest craze is the “Kidz
Salon”, a mobile beauty parlour for kids, which includes
up-do’s, hairstyling, hair colouring, hair wrapping, nail
art and foot spa. Clowning Around offers cooking and baking lessons,
“Colour Me Mine” ceramic-painting session and other
arts and crafts activities like sand art, stencil, coloring and
icing cookies and crystal art. Clowning Around also handles Kite
Flying workshops/competitions and Mad Science shows. We can also
provide a petting zoo with farm animals right at your party or
even a martial arts exhibition!
The company has stage actors, voice artists, commercial models
advertising executives on one end – and pre-school teachers,
tutors, managers and even bankers on the other. Some recognizable
talents who have been part of CLOWNING AROUND are film actors
Nonie Buencamino, Richard Joson, Bart Guingona, Joel Trinidad,
Tommy Alvarado, Dingdong Rosales, Gabe Mercado and basketball
star, Jayvee Gayoso.
The current cast of clowns/hosts includes stage/commercial/voice
talent Apollo Abraham, stage actor/director/TV host Myles Osolio,
stage actor/dance choreographer Alvin de la Peña, stage
improv comedian Beepsie Mayuga-Mercado, pre-school teacher Dolly
Mapua, entrepreneur Mike Mapua, entrepreneur Rocio Lista, TV/commercial
talent Tinette Lanuza-de la Vega, Habitat volunteer Bel Pacheco,
TV and commercial talent/stage actress/improv comedian Carelle
Mangaliag, teacher Angela Mapa, entrepreneur/sports coach Cisco
Lumbad, stage actress Mitch Khan, and music/dance/arts instructor
Angie Syyap. Cherry Mapua-Osmeña, who is currently finishing
her Masters Degree in Special Education, hosts "The Amazing
Bubble Show".
