Thought Factory Arts & Crafts

The Thought Factory is a design and production studio specializing in creative arts and hobby crafts. It conducts Art Attack workshops for kids 12 years old and below to bring out the child's creative talents, develop his artistic abilities and explore designing, inventing and decorating through his own imagination.

Many projects are science-based and involve the use of recycled materials. To list a few…

1. The Clucking Chicken
A lesson in sound travel, vibration, friction and surface tension. Kids create, assemble and decorate a toy chicken that makes funny clucking sounds.

2. The Magic Wallet
Kids create a unique wallet that makes money appear and disappear and move from one side to another. A study in illusion.

3. The Balancing Looney Birds
A bunch of funny-looking birds that can balance and swing freely on a finger, ear or in a mobile set-up. Lessons in gravity, motion and balance.

4. Big Mouth Bertha
An Origami character to cut, color, assemble and turn into a talking puppet.

5. Wally, the Whale Acrobat
A simple toy to cut, color, assemble and play with. Wally balances a ball and catches it. Teaches wind direction and distribution.

6. Cow, the Obedient Monkey
A monkey that slides on a string upon command. Teaches gravity and surface tension.

* You can combine any two of the above projects (#s 1-6) in one party session 2-3 hours.
